Through Stories of accommodations, advocacy, and ableism, Jennifer Wolfsheimer will take the audience on a journey through her experiences as a woman with Cerebral Palsy and a mother of a child with a disability all while highlighting the real implications of raising expectations for children with disabilities. Jennifer has devoted her career to special education policy and its impact on students with disabilities. Jennifer holds a B.A. in Political Science and Women’s Studies from San Diego State University, M.S. in Education with concentration in Disability Policy from Syracuse University, and J.D. from Syracuse University. Participants will leave with actionable steps to raise expectations for children with disabilities.
This session will delve into the critical significance of ensuring timely corrections of findings by local educational agencies and understanding the process of reporting the General Supervision Indicator 18 data to the U.S. Department of Education. Through exploration and discussion, attendees will gain insights into the implications of compliance with General Supervision Indicator 18.

Andy Ewing will review changes in indicator 14 reporting going forward and Ellen McCloskey, SCKSEC Asst Director, Tonya Applegarth, Transition Coordinator, and Jennifer Harrington, USD 501 Director, and the USD 501 Transition Coordinator, will review how they approach the annual interview process, strategies they have in place to promote transition in their districts, how they share post school data with staff and community and more.
During this session you will learn about Title IV, Part A – the three content areas, allowable uses of funds, and the benefits it can provide to your students and schools. We will also be discussing the Title IVA Expenditure Survey that was completed in April/May and updates to the LCP Application and LCP Annual Report
